Pen Y Fan, Brecon Beacons

Arthur's Ski Resort

I felt like a small child in a sweet shop when I reached the peak of Corn Du on this cold March morning. I'd wanted to see snow on the Brecon Beacons for years and due to my lack of experience of winter hiking and not owning crampons, I'd not attempted a visit before. My worries shouldn't have held me back as fresh snowfall overnight made walking easy, despite it being icy in places. Shades of pink lit the low lying clouds in front of me - at this point my view was blocked - but as the wind blew the clouds away golden sunlight broke through and I was treated to a superb view.
