Castell y Gwynt, Snowdonia

Battleground of the Glyderau

One of the iconic features of Snowdonia has to be Castell y Gwynt - the Castle of the Winds. Standing on the top of Glyder Fach it wouldn't seem out of the ordinary to assume that it was crafted over several decades by bearded dwarves in the dark ages. I'd seen many pictures of the castle before I visited but I was still in awe of it. Quite fittingly the sunset that ensued for this photograph was dramatic. I waited for a brief shaft of light to brighten the scene, picking out the sharp rocks in the foreground.
