This Hawthorn tree has its own little discus shaped patch of grass amongst the heather on Porlock Common. The combination of shapes and colours here prompted me to capture the scene. I had to wait until the heather was colourful and the sun's position had move eastward for this composition to work. In the top right of the picture Hurlstone Point is visible, curving out into the Bristol Channel and marking the eastern edge of Bossington beach.
