At the top of the road through the Elan Valley in mid-Wales the Afon Elan flows into a series of reservoirs. Sounds of cars and anything man-made quickly diminish here and all that is left is water, wind and the odd bird call. Heavy mist lingered all morning whilst I made this picture. The deep blue sky contrasted wonderfully against the last bursts of orange in the leaves and ferns.
