Staple Plain, Quantocks

The Quantocks mark a change in character from the Somerset Levels. They form a wall between Exmoor in the west and the flat wetlands in the east. This view from Staple Plain looks west down a valley towards Williton and Exmoor. In between some very heavy rain showers the sky cleared enough to allow part of the sunset to break through. Although the sun didn't hit the ground, there is plenty of colour in the changing autumnal lanscape.
