Bruton's Dovecote

For a long time I had wanted to photograph Bruton's Dovecote from a distance, set in the landscape. To enhance its stature and add atmosphere I thought it would be interesting to visit on a misty morning. As with a lot of my pictures, predicting where and when mist will form is a dark art and as much down to luck as anything. On this morning I ended up at Bruton because it happened to be the first place on my travels at which I saw mist. The idea for the picture had been in my head for a long time so it was good to have the right conditions to see it to fruition.
