Constitution Hill

While most visitors photograph Wells Cathedral from the green facing its impressive west front there are some equally impressive views to be had from further away. To the east of the cathedral, approaching from Dulcote, is a fabulous view that reveals architecture that is otherwise never seen. I'd attempted to photograph this view in previous years but the light was never right. However, visiting early on a summer morning the direction of the sun brought some all important depth to the scene.

'Constitution Hill' is also available as a greeting card.
