I love using outcrops of rocks as foreground interest in my photographs. There is a small outcrop of limestone at this spot on Wavering Down and I was determined to include it a picture featuring Crook Peak. Composing photographs like this is a bit like solving a jigsaw puzzle; I spend a lot of time looking through my camera's viewfinder until I find the right combination of position and lens to create a coherent image. Once I'd found the right spot I set up my tripod and waited for a break in the clouds, hoping for that all important burst of light to help create depth to the scene.
